About Us

In 2009, TheBoyZone.com was launched as one of the first social networks amied soley at the Gay and Bisexual male globally. Unlike other gay websites, TheBoyZone.com is 100% free to use and activley promotes NON graphic, non pornographic social networking.

With a current membership of 5000 gay and bisexual men from 137 Countries, TheBoyZone.com is set to become a World leading website by bringing the ‘facebook’ savy guy to a site specifically aimed at them.

In the latter part of 2009, TheBoyZone.com was approched by Global Digital Broadcast (GDB) and TV Polari to open an Internet Protocol Television Channel (IPTV) aimed soley at gay and bisexual men across the World.

GDB and TV Polari operate one of the world's largest networks of independent content and community channels for IPTV. Now in the process of building more television channels to deliver over IP, GDB has formed associations with a number of major international operators, hardware and set-top box manufacturers and digital rights management (DRM) providers. These include Hbbtv with an estimated 50 million customers in Europe watching our intergrated set top box direct to their television.

Very soon GDB will be broadcasting through the Sony Playstation3 platform of IPTV giving TheBoyZone TV 8.5 million viewers in the UK alone. This will be a new era in TV delivery and broadcasting giving advertisors access to cost effective marketing to the Gay and Bisexual community.

The Pink Pound
Together with our in house management and dedicated partner companies we can make your advertising and media dream a reality, without breaking the bank, and we will be here to take the pressure away.
It’s often thought the Pink Pound simply refers to the spending habits of just the LGBT community however recent research suggests that women have also joined this group. It’s estimated that there are some £70bn ‘pink pounds’ earned and spent in the UK alone each year. Whilst the government’s own figures quote the gay population as 3 million when you add to all the other members of the groups, and women, this presents a large proportion of the UK market to have access to.

Just as an example, gay men earn up to £10,000 more each year than heterosexual counterparts which is perhaps why their disposable income is also higher. This sector has traditionally maintained low household costs and instead used their spare cash to spend on themselves, leisure or entertainment. This is market still shows signs of maintaining high discretionary spending in the current climate.
It’s not only the amount of cash these individuals have that sets them apart from the crowd – typically having a higher education, more discerning with their choice of product or supplier and often regarded as ‘early adopters’ by those in the know it’s easy to see how this market offers considerable opportunities.

How to make a TV advertisement

You can approach making a commercial by many different routes. You may choose to brief an advertising agency, who will help in the briefing and creation of the commercial, or you might approach an independent production company directly. Alternatively, TheBoyZone Media Customer Relations can assist with commercial production via our in-house commercial production facility, which offers competitive rates and expertise.

Once a commercial production company is on board, you will need to consider the following:
 What is the main objective for the advertising? (e.g. increasing sales, raising brand awareness)
 Who is the target audience? (e.g. new or existing consumers)
 What is the single most important message the viewer must take from the commercial?
 What evidence is there to support this claim?
 What aspect of the brand’s personality should be conveyed in the commercial?
These are some of the questions you might need to answer. However, this process does not have to cost the earth or use special effects. Television commercials can be made simply.
